Fifth-year medical students spend 9 weeks in the obstetrics and gynecology department offered at six teaching hospitals. The course includes daily medical rounds and discussions, where initially students will spend about 60 minutes taking history from inpatients in the ward and labor suite, and then they perform physical examinations and sometimes they review patient records to see the management patients had in the hospital. Afterward, students will have a 90-minute session where these cases will be discussed in small sub-groups with the instructors. Students rotate in 6th different hospitals during the course including: 1. Al-Ramtha Hospital 2. Princess Badeah Teaching Hospital (PBH) 3. King Abdulla University Hospital (KAUH) 4. Al-Mafraq government Hospital 5. Al Mafraq Military Hospital 6. Prince Rashid Ben Al-Hasan Military Hospital The course also includes afternoon lectures that cover the main topics in obstetrics and gynecology. In addition, students present seminars that discuss topics that have not been covered in lectures. The course includes about 40 hours of lectures and seminars. In general, students will spend 50% of the clerkship gaining exposure to pregnancy/obstetrics; and 50% of the clerkship gaining exposure to gynecologic problems. The students are expected to generate a problem list or differential diagnosis for common obstetrics and gynecology complaints and to know how to reach a diagnosis by rationale utilization of laboratory and imaging facilities.

7. Analgesia and anesthesia in obstetrics, Menopause and HRT, Medical disorders in pregnancy (part 1 and 2), Drugs in pregnancy
8. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), Sexually transmitted disease (STD), Abnormal vaginal discharge, Prolonged pregnancy and induction of labour, malpresentation

• 20%Perform complete obstetric and gynecologic history and physical examinations when appropriate, and document efficiently to ensure accuracy of the medical record
• 20%Demonstrate knowledge of antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care of the mother and newborn to provide competent health care
• 20%Demonstrate knowledge of common gynecological problems including common benign gynecology, urogynecology, infertility and reproductive medicine and gynecologic oncology
• 20%Apply clinical findings to develop an appropriate diagnosis and propose a prioritized management plan for common gynecologic and obstetrics problems
• 10%Demonstrate effective interpersonal communications skills that result in effective information exchange and teaming with patients, their patients families, and health care team
• 10%Demonstrate accountability to all patients and a commitment to carrying out professional responsibilities with integrity and compassion
