This course introduces students to the principles and concepts of biology. It covers basic cell biology with emphasis on biological chemistry, cell structure and function, cellular metabolism, respiration and cellular division, in addition to emphasis on organisms, biodiversity, plant and animal systems and ecology. In addition, students are made familiar with the basics of genetics; molecular biology of genes and genetic technology.
