This course provides a systemic and comprehensive overview of the most common diseases and treatments within internal medicine. The focus will be on participation and dialogue, including different educational methods intended to optimize the learning outcome. During the course, multiple teaching bedside sessions will be devoted to each of the following specialties; Cardiology, Pulmonary and Critical care Medicine, gastrointestinal diseases, Hematology and oncology, rheumatology, nephrology, endocrinology, allergy and immunology and infectious medicine. Students are assigned to one of three hospitals. All sites offer the benefits of a major teaching center with outstanding attending faculty. Teaching sites are closely monitored to ensure comparability. The depth and scope of clinical encounters during the 7-week rotation are comparable among sites as evidenced by student feedback, and clerkship evaluations. This course provides a systemic and basic overview of the most common diseases and treatments within internal medicine with placing the emphasis on patient interview, physical examination, problem identification, and case presentations with more emphasis on patient management and decision-making, as well as familiarization with common bedside and lab procedures The focus will be on participation and dialogue, including different educational methods intended to optimize the learning outcome. The course will combine bedside group discussions, and lectures. Active student participation is a requirement. With diverse roles, the attending physician and Internal Medicine residents actively participate in student teaching. Although the students will have ample learning opportunities through their participation in case -presentations and discussions, teaching conferences, and lectures, their self-learning through reading and effective use of the medical libraries and learning resources will be stressed throughout the clerkship. In alignment with the evolving landscape of modern medicine, this course will introduce and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools as augmentative aids to clinical practice. Students will learn to leverage AI for enhancing diagnostic reasoning, efficiently accessing medical evidence, and improving clinical documentation, while simultaneously developing the critical skills necessary to evaluate AI outputs, mitigate bias, and uphold the highest standards of patient privacy and ethical decision-making. The goal is to cultivate a generation of physicians who are not only clinically proficient but also technologically adept and discerning. The eventual goal is to develop the skills that will allow each student to continue independent learning and problem solving. Each student will be evaluated by his or her preceptor using a standard assessment form.

• 30%exhibit essential understanding of the pathophysiology, etiology, and clinical manifestations of a broad spectrum of medical conditions commonly encountered in internal medicine.
• 20%conduct history-taking and physical examination skills with particular emphasis on the focused evaluation and development of diagnostic decision-making skills.
• 10%Present clinical data in both written and oral form in a clear and cogent fashion in order to be able to generate a pertinent problem list and relevant differential diagnoses for each identified problem
• 20%Recognize and manage patients with common medical diseases and disorders, both acute and non-acute illnesses, and learn the skills necessary for providing patient care in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
• 10%Development of an evidenced-based approach to the evaluation, management and care of patients
