The course aims to introduce students to the basics of cellular and molecular biology. It includes the basics in the structure of the cell, the functions of its components and its related disorders, especially cancers. In addition, this course covers the association of cells, their molecules and various signals with the processes of reproduction, differentiation, movement and death. The course also includes an introduction to the chemical composition of the genetic material, and molecular processes such as the replication of the genetic material, transcription and translation into protein molecules with the formation of genetic mutations and their impact and methods of repair. Also, this course covers the basic processes in molecular biology including DNA replication, DNA transcription to form RNA, translation of the latter into protein molecules, and covers the basic methods and techniques of molecular biology.
